August, 20:00, melden.

This year's European Hardcourt Bikepolo Championship will take place in Munich, Germany, on the historic Theresienwiese.

The event will feature 40 teams from all across Europe on three courts for three days.

Date: 10.09. – 12.09.2020

Court : Theresienwiese, Bavariaring, 80336 München

Format: 3+1. Classic 3v3 bike polo, with an additional substitute player for each team.

Qualification:

At the moment we plan for maximum capacity. The slots will be attributed as follows:

1 slot for every country

1 extra slot for Germany, France, Italy and the UK

1 slot for host city Munich

1 slot for Hell's Belles winners

1 slot for the top 8 teams of EHBC 2019

The rest of the slots can be earned in the wildcard event on September 8-9. This will be a three court, two day event. There is principle no limit on teams in the Wildcard and everybody is invited.

The country is determined by the majority players of a team. If it is 2/2 then the team has to select one of the two countries. We grant countries the right to determine who can get the slots in the main event. If there is no communication/solution we will do a public lottery for those countries.

Top 8 slots that are not filled will be redistributed according to countries according to historic attendance at the Euros. All other slots not filled will be added to the wildcard.

Disclaimer: In case the number of registered teams is below expectations or teams drop out, we will change to a 4 day, all inclusive event with 54 Teams maximum, from September 9-12.

Andi, Christopher, Johanna, Shaki
Jonas,Marco, Prolo
Elena, Conny, Mateen, Stef

BITTE registriert euch rechtzeitig. Desto früher, desto besser für die Organizer.

Dear Europolo,

some important news on EHBPC 2020.

1) There will be no Wildcard, all teams that expressed interest are able to play in the Main Event. The Main Event gets extended by one day and will take place from Wednesday September 9th until Saturday September 12th. Tuesday will be open for pickups and perhaps some test games of the format.

2) Teams are asked to register until August 23rd at midnight using this link: https://ehbc2020.eurobikepolo.com/ehbc/registration
Please, if you do not get a confirmation after sending the form get in contact with EHBA or Bikepolo Munich. You can put in TBA's for one or two players, but you have to fill the form before the deadline, so we can plan the scheduling! Once your team is fully registered and confirmed, you will appear on this page: https://ehbc2020.eurobikepolo.com/ehbc/main-teams

3) Games will start Wednesday at 8am. There are no lights, so we have to use all the daylight we have. Please, if you can, plan your trip so you can be ready to play Wednesday at 8am. We understand that for some it will not be possible to be there before Thursday. We will enable grouping such that those teams can also play the same number of games starting Thursday morning. But we emphasize that you should really try your best to be ready on Wednesday morning.

4) There have been several updates on the website. An important one is about the situation that we will face regarding COVID19 precautions. Please read this page carefully and be prepared to follow the procedures as explained:
https://ehbc2020.eurobikepolo.com/ehbc/covid-19

5) We need volunteers, especially on Monday to carry and mount the boards. Please, if you are able to help, leave a note in the registration form!

6) There are limited spaces in a hostel near the court with special rates for participants. The reservations must be made before August 23rd. For details, have a look at this page:
https://ehbc2020.eurobikepolo.com/ehbc/accommodation

We hope everybody stays safe and that the event can take place under the best circumstances.

Dear Europolo,

Due to recent developments the organising team has decided to cancel EHBPC2020. When we decided to change the date the outlook was good, but the situation has changed, and now there is too much uncertainty.

In the past few weeks the Covid-19 situation has become increasingly bad, and the chances of the event being allowed by the city are now very low. Additionally:

Our detailed hygiene concept has not been approved by the city and needs adaptation. There is no guarantee it will be accepted.
All players from risk areas require a mandatory negative Covid PCR test not older than 48h to travel to Germany. As of this morning, risk areas include Spain, Brussels, Paris, and Marseille. It is anticipated that the set of regions will be expanded in the coming weeks. Additionally, the covid testing situation is deteriorating, and it is not clear that timely tests will be accessible.
With Covid cases on the rise in Europe the event could give negative publicity to our sport. The idea of the event is and always has been to set a good example to the public, which is hardly possible at this moment.

We are truly sorry for any time, effort and costs this causes for teams! However, the organisers concluded that the best decision is to cancel it now, when most costs (also for Munich, which would be taking on a large financial risk), can still be avoided. The paid registration fees will be transferred back to you asap. If you have booked travel or accommodation already, please try to cancel it immediately! If you have problems with that, let us know because we may be able to find some way to help. If you are still planning on traveling we can suggest fun stuff to do in Bavaria.

Munich would like to try hosting again in 2021 and we hope the European players are behind this plan!

We thank you for your understanding and hope to see you all soon!

Munich Bikepolo and EHBA
