Tentative dates for EHBC are June 25-28. Please keep these dates free in the calendar! This is not official, just a precaution!
Steht das alles noch auf wackligen Beinen aber laut Gerüchten würds in München stattfinden.
Wer hätte denn Interesse? Damit wir - sobald es fixiert ist - möglichst bald weitere Einzelheiten klären können.

NEUES DATUM:
The event will take place, with the new and final dates 8.-12. September

Dear Europolo,

We hope you are all doing well. There are some major news regarding the event in Munich!

The event will take place, with the new and final dates 8.-12. September (given that conditions allow), but it will not be considered EHBC2020. This means, the results will not impact the slot distribution of EHBC2021. This was the same scenario in Turin 2016. The reason for this decision is that we want to take some pressure off the event and players. This year has strongly impacted the ability to train, travel and organise qualifiers. In addition, the event may still be cancelled if conditions are not good enough!

The scenario at which we are looking is to organise a major European event on the highest possible level, where all regions have the ability to join, but with a less formal qualification process.

It has been decided by the organisers and EHBA to take the chance and try something new (like we did in 2016): for this event, each team will consist of 4 players (3 on the court +1 substitute), with play time of ca. 16-25 minute per game. We are working on some necessary rules adaptions for this specific format (substitions, time outs, personal foul escalation,...). We will try to publish the adapted rules asap.

The number of available slots is not yet decided, but most likely 36-40 teams max on the days of 10.-12. September. We hope to welcome teams from all regions, but we want to invite all teams and players who are willing to play! If necesary, we can extend the event for 1 day, or add 2 days of wildcard. The slot distribution and registration process will be published as soon as the game plan and final number of teams in the main event is clear.

It is emphasized that we want nobody to feel obligated to travel to the event or take unecessary risks. Safety is our priority and we aim to soon have an answer under what conditions the event can be held. If the required infrastructure is too much effort or too costly for the organisers, or if the game or its mechanics would be restricted, then the event will have to be cancelled.

Organisers are working on more details of the event, such as accommodation. We will soon release an event page with updated news on the event.

It is important for the organisers to estimate the number of teams, so we ask all teams and players who are interested to play to get in touch with their local contact person, or with EHBA directly:
Portugal: Cat
Spain: Victor R.
Austria: Mateen
Czech Republic: Martin
Belarus: Bystry
Poland: Szymon
Ukraine: Dmytro
Russia: Denis
Denmark: Juan
Finland: Leevi
Latvia: Kristaps
Lithuania: Lukas
Norway: Sean
Belgium: Brice
Netherlands: Aislan
Croatia: Iva
Hungary: Tamás E.
Romania: Alex
Slovenia: Peter
Turkey: James
Germany: Andy
France: Quentin B.
Ireland:Kropa
UK: Beagle
Italy: Pyetro
Switzerland: Elena

We hope this message gives more clarity. The organisers are looking forward to see how the 3+1 format will be received by the community.
